Corporate workshop led by Jozef Herák

Sound familiar?

The team delivers, but on reserves.

Shoulders up by their ears, six meetings behind them and three decisions still in their heads. Most companies respond with a gym card that a handful of people actually use.

I bring something different: one hour a week in your meeting room, where people learn to be relaxed but not collapsed. Calm, yet ready. Nobody breaks a sweat. It is a way of standing, breathing and responding that people take straight into the next meeting and the hardest conversation of the week.

The body learns faster than the mind. Once someone has experienced, in a pair, what it means to listen to a partner and trust them at the same time, no presentation on communication will explain it better.

What you gain

What you take away

  • Less tension and exhaustion across the team
  • A relaxed back and neck after a day at the desk
  • Calmer meetings and better decisions under pressure
  • A shared experience without competition, for every age and fitness level
  • A benefit people actually use, because it comes to them

Tailored to your team

Not a Tai Chi class. Training for what your team is facing.

Before the first session I speak with leadership and build the programme around what matters most to you. For example:

Trust and communication

When
People stop listening, information gets lost and everyone pulls in their own direction.
In movement
Partner drills where one leads and the other responds, sometimes with eyes closed. Elements of dance leading and the sensitive hands of Wing Chun, where you read your partner instead of overpowering them.
At work
Listen before answering. Trust the other person to hold their part.

Negotiating and selling without force

When
Negotiations turn into a push, and the team either pushes harder at the first objection or freezes.
In movement
Tai Chi pushing hands and the Wing Chun principle 來留去送,甩手直衝 (Loi lau, hoi sung, lat sau jik chung): receive what comes, escort what leaves, and when the line opens, go straight in. Wu Wei: never fight force, use it.
At work
Stay in contact with the objection, don't force it, and act the moment space opens.

Calm under pressure and decision-making

When
Deadlines, crises and tense meetings where decisions are made under stress.
In movement
The Wu Ji stance, rooting and breath. A state of relaxation without collapse, from which you can act at any moment.
At work
Decisions made from calm, not panic. Firm without being rigid.

Leading people

When
Leaders either push too hard or fail to give clear direction.
In movement
Dance leading: clear intent, a light impulse and room for the partner. When the leader pushes, the partner resists. When the leader is vague, the partner stands still.
At work
Lead clearly but without pressure, and leave people room to respond.

One session

What 60 minutes look like

Every session is built around what the team is dealing with right now. Movement is the path. The goal is what people take back to their desks.

  1. 10 minArriving in Wu JiStopping, stance and breath. People stop thinking about their inbox.
  2. 30 minThe theme in movementSolo and partner drills, chosen for what the team is working on.
  3. 15 minBack to workA short conversation: where do you meet the same thing at work, and what will you do differently?
  4. 5 minOne thing for the weekA simple drill or principle everyone tries before the next session.

How it works

Four steps

  1. Conversation with leadershipI find out what your team is dealing with and what you want to change.
  2. Taster for leadership20 minutes on site, free of charge. Leadership experiences it before deciding.
  3. Tailored programmeA workshop or pilot month built on your themes.
  4. ResultsA short anonymous questionnaire before and after the pilot. Leadership receives the results and my observations; in the annual programme, every quarter.

Questions

Frequently asked

How many people is it for?

Regular sessions for groups of up to 12, workshops for up to 20. For larger teams I set up several groups.

What space do we need?

A meeting room with the tables pushed aside, or a terrace. About 2 × 2 metres per person.

Can people without any fitness join?

Yes. The movements are slow and fluid, suitable for every age and fitness level.

Does it work as team building?

Yes. A two-hour workshop is meaningful team building for a leadership meeting, company day or offsite. Instead of competing, people experience how they communicate and trust each other, and take it back to work.

Do people have to touch each other?

No. Partner drills with contact are always optional and each one has a no-contact version. I explain this before the session and respect everyone's boundaries.

How do you measure results?

Before and after the pilot month, participants fill in a short anonymous questionnaire on tension, communication and focus. Leadership receives a summary and my observations.

Are sessions run in English?

Yes. For international teams I run every session in English.
